Welcome, fellow passengers, to the relaunch of chickybus!
Whether you’re a long-time follower or just stumbling upon this corner of the internet, this post is designed to give you the lay of the land. Think of it as your roadmap to navigating the twists and turns of our blog’s journey.
Picture this: a vintage bus, filled with words, ideas, and the occasional witty remark, cruising down the information superhighway. That was this blog until one day – CRASH!
That’s a long story, which is the subject of a post you can read if you’d like. If not, all you need to know is that the bus was in the garage for a while. Looked like it was totaled! But then, it was saved.
Good news: it’s very possible to ride the vintage version of the bus with lots of stories and photos. About Syria before the war. Meeting locals in a Sumatran village in Indonesia. Riding a chicken bus for 12 hours, etc.
The not-so-good news: the older posts don’t quite match the newer stuff and there are a few glitches. The reason is that they are ‘static’ pages.

It was a vibrant community of readers who enjoyed authentic travel tales about traveling off the beaten path and into the moment and finding yourself along the way. It was a lot of fun, but it was also deep at times, too.
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes (or in this case, a blog bus rising from the scrapyard), it’s back on the road. Why?
Because the passion for travel has ever really left me. I’ve missed the conversations, the exchange of ideas, and the thrill of hitting ‘publish’ on a new post. Plus, I’ve got some new perspectives and experiences to share that we think you’ll find valuable. Not just about travel, but about life itself.
Here’s how you can make the most of your visit to the Vintage Content section. Keep in mind that:
I’m thrilled to be back on the road, and we’d love for you to be part of this journey. Here’s how you can stay connected:
Whether you’re a seasoned passenger or a new hitchhiker, welcome aboard the revived, Buckle up – it’s going to be an exciting ride!
